CU-SeeMe
World was a web site (www.cuseemeworld.com) that I envisioned and built as a
community site for the millions of CU-SeeMe software customers. It developed
into a showcase for the company’s Internet communications technologies, and
eventually became an integral part of the CU-SeeMe software product. As of November
2000, the site had 400,000 registered members, who use the site primarily for
videochat. (This web site has since been sold and has been re-branded as www.cuworld.com.)
- Responsible
for all aspects of creating and launching a new community-based videochat
web site for CU-SeeMe users -- everything from writing the business plan,
to creating the look and feel of the site, to developing relationships with
strategic partners to working with public relations firms. Served as creative
strategist, product manager, marketer, online expert, and public spokesperson
in order to drive the creation, growth and maintenance of the site.
- Introduced
the site to media and analysts, working with PR agencies. I was interviewed
for print media (including Yahoo Internet Life, The Boston Globe, Texas Technology)
and for radio, TV and web casts (including CNNfn's Digital Jam).
